Last week I had the opportunity to teach a Super One Day Class for Professional Photographers of America. It was such a treat because I was able to teach so many of my photographer friends plus meet a few new ones (shout out to ya’ll from Texas!). I had planned to annouce this class on my blog so some of you who’ve followed me for so long would have the opportunity to come learn, but my class sold out before I even had the chance. SO in the future, I promise to let you know when and where I’m teaching if you’re interested in joining the fun.
One of my attendees mentioned she had a cousin who might be willing to model for us which worked out great. Megan did a fabulous job! It’s not easy being photographed by so many people at once. The class was on “In-camera Artistry” which means these shots are basically SOC with a few little tweaks. This is how I always shoot, which is so helpful on the back end. I’m able to have a life rather than wasting away my days editing. Getting your images as perfect as possible in camera is something that will save you SO much time and headache. It’s worth putting in the time to learn how to expose, pose, light & color balance correctly. I’ve loved the feed back I’ve got this year from those of you who’ve been able to hear me speak/teach so hopefully it’s something I can continue to do!
And just for fun, here’s an iphone snap of one setup + the image I took in my camera at that same moment. I’m in blue! Thanks for grabbing this shot Jamie.
